EXTREMELY RARE Rolex Ryder Cup Oak Hill Jacket Original Owner Documented
Super RARE Rolex Oak Hill Ryder Cup Golf Jacket, Original Owner, Excellent! In September 1995, I was a guest of Rolex at the Ryder Cup in Rochester, NY all 3 days, including a Rolex sponsored golf outing and the black tie gala the night before the tournament see accompanying pic.
Johnny Mathis was the performer. It was a better than expected show. This jacket (along with other great stuff-not included) was presented to the participants in our group by the Senior Vice President of Rolex, Jean-Noel Bioul, prior to the Rolex Golf Outing which they sponsored at Midvale Country Club in Rochester on the Wednesday or Thursday prior to the start of the tournament. It was a "best ball" tournament. I still have the FootJoy golf shoes I bought with my "winnings". I don't believe that there were more than maybe 10-12 of these produced. Of course I wasn't privy to the ordering process so I can't know for sure. Lots of corporate logo merchandise was produced for the tournament, but not so much for Rolex logo items.You could only receive the items directly from Rolex. I wore this item at least a half dozen times, no more. Needless to say, it hasn't been worn in over 20 years now, as I have since realized that this is an historical garment.
It has been cleaned per label instructions twice in the almost 24 years since presentation I told you it didn't get worn much and any faint fading of the collar or cuffs is simply due to age and storage. The latest cleaning was 10/01/18.
Air dried both times, never in dryer. It's stored in a cedar lined closet.The original invitation/ticket to the black tie gala shown is not included. It is pictured only to authenticate/document the event. If you are really interested in the ticket, message me and I'll figure out a price and add it to this listing.
