In the mid-80s, I travelled to Cajun Country, Louisiana to spend a couple days with Artist George Rodrique to discuss representing him and his art on the West Coast. George was a larger than life personality and loved his wife and their spacial estate that seemed to extend a city block in Lafayette. In truth, I was a young and inexperienced wannabe with a fledging poster art business wanting to break into the legit art business.
Anyway, the first afternoon we went to his studio and he started pulling out prints, and signed everyone - some limited editions, for me to prime the pump in Los Angeles. These prints were part of my original order.
Well, the next morning, after coffee you could stand a spoon in, we began a eating tour heading east on I-10 stopping at every famous Cajun chef who would open their restaurant doors for George and prepare his favorites. I swear we ate four lunches that day with Jolie Blonde beer that would have even challenged Guy Fieri ending in New Orleans at the world famous Mulates for dinner (our official mid-day meal).Anyway, that is to say, I found one pristine signed print that has been well stored since and decided to share offer it to you. When it's gone, it's gone!
