EXTREMELY RARE 1950 VINTAGE NITEY NITE 22 MANNEQUIN GIRL DOLL COUNTER DISPLAY. EXTREMELY RARE 1950's VINTAGE "NITEY NITE" 22 inch MANNEQUIN GIRL DOLL for COUNTERTOP STORE DISPLAY (rocking chair not included, it is a photo prop). MANNEQUIN/DOLL: The Glendale Knitting Company had this 22 inch girl mannequin produced out of a 1953, "Chuckles" American Character Company rubber doll head, which was hallmarked with an impressed 22, on the back of her neck. Molded full hair and lovely functioning blue, sleep eyes with thick black, molded eyelashes. Then the "Chuckles" head was attached to a hard plastic body of a special doubled-pinioned-jointed-hip from a Saucy-walker type doll. Eyes do open and close. Lips are open, teeth not visible. These girl/boy mannequins were designed and produced by the Glendale Knitting Company in the 1950's to advertise their hugely popular children's Nitey Nite footed sleepers. This company, which started in New York, grew to become an international success. In fact, they were the first company to obtain the very first pattens for rubberized-sole-footed pajamas/sleepers. The company also produced smaller sleepers and pajamas for many Dolls including Ideal, Effanbee dolls, DyDee, Tiny Tears and Betsy Wetsy among others. This hugely successful company ordered these specially-designed mannequins to be used for counter top displays in stores throughout the country, as well as overseas. She has no shoes or socks. Doll is in good condition.

There is a black mark on her leg and tape residue marks on her back. Please see photos as they are part of desciption. We sell on consignment for clients in the Midwest.

We are often asked what we sell and our reply is that if it is Legal and Moral we will try to sell it.
