This is an original and very rare 1989 Adidas Soviet "Progression in Sports Activity" jacket in size XL (see measurements in pics). During this period, Adidas created a special line of Soviet sportswear that included a limited edition crewneck, jogging pants, and this zipper jacket. During the Cold War, Adidas was a cultural icon for Soviet and post-Soviet Russia, a sentiment traced back to the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games-boycotted by the US and 64 other countries-when Adidas designed the uniforms for Soviet athletes. Interestingly, this jacket was produced two years before the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The jacket is a punch of color with embroidered Russian lettering, the cog, hammer and sickle symbols on the back, and similar graphics on the red interior.
